Unlock Your Potential
Discover the power of psychedelic therapy for personal growth, spiritual exploration, and creative problem-solving.
What We Offer
Welcome to Nova Scotia's first Cannabis-Assisted Psychedelic Therapy (CAPT) practice.
Psychedelics have a long history of use in spiritual traditions, and have been used by cultures all over the world for healing purposes. CAPT is a professional healing method developed by the Center for Medicinal Mindfulness in Colorado.
In a CAPT Session, cannabis is consumed intentionally during a guided mindfulness experience, aimed at healing the body, mind and soul. Research has shown that CAPT may be effective in the treatment of a variety of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression and PTSD [1], [2], [3], [4]. It provides a safe and joyful container to support you in navigating psycho-spiritual exploration and transformational experiences. Using preparation and integration sessions you can gain insights from psychedelic experiences, make changes and forge new paths.
Altered Healing is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia and offers psychedelic therapy and guiding services in-person and online. Angela, founder and psychedelic therapist, is a highly trained professional with over a decade of experience working with clients, as a psychotherapist and addictions technician. As a psychedelic therapist, she has over 500 medicine session hours.
Psychedelic therapy can be experienced using different medicines, but access, legality and availability vary. Ketamine therapy is only legally available in a medical setting under doctor's supervision. Psilocybin therapy is only available under a special access program in Canada. Cannabis-Assisted Psychedelic Therapy (CAPT) provides a safe, legal and more easily accessible option to adults seeking support.
While offering Cannabis-Assisted Psychedelic Therapy (CAPT) is the main focus of the work we do, Altered Healing also offers other related services.
Conscious Cannabis Circles - Group psychedelic meditation experiences online and in-person
Insight Sessions - Preparation and integration support for experiences with other medicines
Breathwork Sessions - Using breathing techniques to explore altered states of consciousness

Our Mission
Altered Healing believes in the power of plant medicine, mindfulness, and ancient wisdom coupled with modern psychotherapy, to unlock the healing potential within each individual. Altered Healing is a family business, run by Angela and Stephen.
Our mission is to guide people on their journey of self-discovery and transformation, in order to heal and reclaim their true self.
We value the inherent knowledge each of us has to know our own body and mind. Our intention is to meet people where they are, and allow them to explore their own path to healing. Altered Healing is intended to be a safe space for everyone to share.
Our Team
I’m Angela Amirault and I am passionate about supporting individuals who are looking for growth, healing and transformation. I ran my own private psychotherapy practice in Dublin, Ireland, and worked in the judicial system supporting individuals with substance abuse issues in Boulder, Colorado, USA.
In Colorado I received advanced credentialing as a mindfulness-based psychedelic therapist. In a clinical setting I guided and supported clients working with ketamine, cannabis and psilocybin. Working with a range of psychedelic medicines in a safe and legal setting was a great learning experience. I was the first practitioner in the nation to offer a week long retreat working with cannabis and psilocybin legally.
Supporting and holding spaces for individuals to cultivate their own inner power, work through past trauma and move forward in a positive way is a privilege that I have so much gratitude for.
Having spent two decades studying and working in the mental health field, I have had the privilege to learn from and work with many individuals across many disciplines. I believe healing and learning is a lifelong journey, and I continue to expand my knowledge across the many facets of mental health and spirituality.

I’m Stephen Long, and I'm passionate about helping people to grow and learn. I was born and raised in Ireland, but have spent as much of my time as I could wandering the world and seeking adventure. I have a background in technology and specialize in learning and development.
With nearly 20 years experience in the technology space, I have worked across multiple industries, focus areas and cultures. Most recently, I spent 10 of those years working as Senior Program Manager at Google, designing global scale training programs for tech professionals. My role at Altered Healing is operations, design, training, and chief problem solver (I also work part-time as a problem creator).
I believe in the power of psychedelic therapy to transform people's perspectives, and change their lives for the better. Learning can be one of the most empowering actions we can take, and often our most profound teacher is within.
